The mission of Truth in Government is to strengthen our country’s financial foundation by  promoting accountability and transparency in Congressional spending and reporting.

One of the chief vehicles for accomplishing our mission is Unaccountable Congress: It Doesn’t Add Up, penned by Joe DioGuardi after he left Congress.

Unaccountable Congress: It Doesn’t Add Up (DioGuardi, 1992) blows the whistle on Congress’ gimmickry fiscal practices that result in endangering the country and each citizen, as well as the very soul of democracy.  The practices, even more outrageous today, of taxing, spending and guaranteeing combine with  personal perks, deals and legal exemptions to mire the country in debt.
